A sense of responsibility

On Sunday afternoon our two boys were invited to stay at a freind's place while I
sang in the concert and my husband ushered. We talked to my oldest son who is 6 and clarified with him are you sure you want to miss the concert. Mommy has bveen practising all this time and I won't be singing these songs again. Are you sure you don't want to hear mommy sing?
His reply: my mind tells me that I should but I'M NOT LISTENING TO IT!

Mennonite Memorial Choir

I had a wonderful weekend, fantastic even enchanting might be a good word. It was absolutely gorgeous outside, a high of 18 - 20 and I was inside but it was so much fun. I spent the whole weekend rehearsing for the benefit concert this past Sunday. What a delight it was to present this program to a packed house. It went well. We had such beautiful meaningful hymns. I had some musical challenges thrown at me in the last weeks but I enjoyed working on them and seeing if I could do it. My husband was a little tired of hearing the Hallujah Chorus after two weeks of hearing that on a midi file! I was part of an special ensemble with the Hallujah Chorus that was a pleasure to do. I did not get every entry right on but it was fun, stretching experience. My husband got a little more than what he bargained for when he volunteered to usher. They had to set up 300 chairs after the auditorium was filled. He had sweat running down his face!
Now am completely changing gears and throwing myself into getting ready for a garage sale that is a fundraiser for The Lighthouse. Last year we raised almost $10,000. That might give you a little bit of an idea why it takes all week to set up!
God bless You!

Career Change

Yesterday Clarence handed over the key of his KW to the new owner. About nine months ago, just like a pregancy, we were asked if we would be interested in buying an agricutural based business. After much prayer, research, and the doors opening one after the other and we kept going through we have decided to buy Pullets Plus. We are very excited about this opportunity for our family. As I stood at the kitchen window and watched the truck go over the hill it was with mixed emotions. Sadness that this stage in life is over but extremely excited that my husband was standing beside me as we watched it go. Both of us were very tired after the first week of adjusting to new schedules and learning new things. Clarence will be growing day old chicks to 19 weeks and then selling them. As I grow more familiar with the business I can give better details. It looks like I could have some office work and upkeep of the property such as lawn mowing etc. We are feeling are way right now.
