My Maternity Leave is Over

About a month ago we as a church were strongly encouraged to pray for the Sunday School Superindents as they planned for new Sunday school teachers. we were also strongly encouraged to accept any new responsibilites given to us. So after church my heart skipped a beat when I saw a white slip of paper in our mailbox. My heart skipped even more beats. The note read something like this. Judy Martin you have been asked and we wish to prayerfully consider being the regular teacher for the ladies class ages 36- 41. May God bless you as you serve the Lord and the church in this way. I was not surprised to see a note in my mailbox but I did not expect my own class in which I am the youngest. I was hoping to get in this slowly after my maternity leave, not with two feet into a cold lake. This coming Sunday is a little difficult as it is on our baptismal covenant. And that was a very difficult time for me as I was denied baptism the first time I requested it. I'm talking to God wondering if I should share this part of my testimony in class as very few people in my class know this. would it benefit the class to know this? Prayers please!

Six Years Ago

on sept.10th,2000 I was rushed to the hospital an hour away by ambulance with flashers going & sirens wailing. Try convincing your husband on the cell phone, who is in Chicago at the time that everything is fine when he hears that in the background. My husband was in st. Paul's MN when he heard the first cry of his first born son. I went to see the Dr. in the a.m. and 12 hours later I had a baby.
I was in the hospital for a week recovering from HELP and Donovan was transferred to our local hospital for two more weeks. He was born 7 weeks early at 4lbs. 8 Oz. Our baby was 5 days old before my husband made it home to see him.
then a year later I went with my best friend to look for fabric for wedding dress and bride's maid dresses. The next day I was peeling pears when I heard about the twin towers.
so needless to say this week is a week of mixed emotions when it comes to reminiscing.

The Cubicle Next Door

I just finished reading a delighful book by Siri L. Mitchell. It was light, a hint of mystery, of course romance wich I enjoy and it featured blogging. I had to think of the movie You've Got Mail when I started reading it. Check it out at www.sirimitchell.com
