Fruit dip

I think this will be the last post on my scrap booing weekend but I wanted to share this recipe for an awesome fruit dip we had. I think it was the hit of the weekend when it came to food. Some ladies might argue with me because we all left the school to walk up the street to a friends' house to eat a peanut butter cheesecake because the school was nut free and we didn't know that. I liked the cheesecake but this fruit dip won hands down for me. I've made it twice since I came home.
1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese softened
1 pkg. Skor bits
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
vanilla
Mix together.
Enjoy!

Creative Correction

Is your tank running dry when it comes to ideas on displining or training your kids? I think I have just the book for you. Creative Correction by Lisa Whelchel. The first time I read the book I sat down and read it like a novel. It was that interesting! Now I want to go through and use a highlighter for the ideas that work for me. One of the most interesting features of this book is the index of crimes. Your child has commited a crime and you don't know how to deal with it. Fine. Look it up in the index and follow the suggestions listed there! One of my friends kiddingly said that we will tell our kids to go there room until I read what this book says on how I should deal with the issue. Then once they get older they will start looking up the punishment for the crime before they commit it to see if it is worth the effort.
I hope to post more often on books that I have read. I am a Living books Distributor and we are based out of Saskechewan. Check us out at www. livingbooks.ca If you are interested in this book I can always get it for you.

Scrap booking Memoirs

This past weekend while I was scrapbooking with my friends I often burst out laughing over comments that were said out of the blue. They amused me so much I started to write them down as I heard them. I thought I would share some of them with you.

This page is just not happening!

Should I let something dangle here?

Put on something right beaty! I wanna tap my toe! (this was said with a PA Dutch accent)

Oh! I hate this page!

Oh crap! I missed a letter.

Rosie can you think of a better caption for this page? always said by the same person.

OK, who took my pencil? Check Rhonda's stuff. She said she hopes to walk out with a few more things than what she came with!

Marilyn, that page is beautiful!

Why won't this eyelet flatten? Are you using the big head?

Stop that hammering! Well, it (eyelet) went flatter.

Sandi, you win the best page award this weekend.

Those were just a few of things that made the weekend fun, along with late nights and girl talk.
Not too mention trying to hop one - legged across the gym floor at 2 in the morning.

I did it! After about an hour with some interuupptions I figured out how to add links to my page. If I overstepped my bounds by adding your page to my list please let me know. Thanks. Kathryn, you were right> Once you know how it is very easy but until then...

Were we hard up ?

This past weekend was the annual scrap booking weekend. Well on Fri. morning it was stormy. The day before it was pouring rain. It dropped from +7 to -9 overnight so we had ice. Roads were closed & hydro was out in the area where we had our cottage booked. So we changed our plans and found a local school that would let us camp out for the weekend. We ladies wanted to scrap book badly enough that we were willing to sleep on a gym floor for two nights! Aren't we crazy? And to top that off there were no showers. I was not prepared for that. I thought that school had showers. I was so ready for a shower by the time the weekend was over. I was working on an album for my mother to celebrate her 60th birthday in April. I am trying to do an overview of her life. Using pictures that old was a struggle. At first I thought I bit off more than I could chew but by Sat. evening I had everything in place as much as I could. On Sunday after the worship hour I was able to work on my family album. The worship hour that I was in charge of was a success. We even went over time! How's that for a first time leader! I give God the glory! It's not about me. I am just so glad it was something interesting and the ladies were willing to share. I came home and my husband was waiting for me so we went to pick up the kids and spent yesterday and today together. So I think it was an awesome weekend, a little bit of lady time and family time. It couldn't get better than that.

Stromboli, Donovan's favorite main dish

Donovan requests this dish at least once a week. I find that whenever I take this dish anywhere I get compliments and the pan is always empty. It is very simple & easy to make.

1 pkg. frozen pizza dough or make your own
cold cuts of your choice, we use ham & thuringer summer sausage
grated cheddar & mozeralla cheese
mustard
Roll out pizza dough in an oblong shape.
Slather with mustard.
Layer cold cuts on top, then cover with grated cheese.
Fold oblong edges into the middle, then fold up ends.
Flip folded side down into a greased pan.
Brush olive oil on top and sprinkle with oregeno.
Cover & bake at 400 for about a half hour or until dough is golden.
Slice & serve.
When I have company then I add a caesar salad. Sliced tomatoes are a good side dish too.

A trucker's wife's Psalm

The Lord is my protector. I shall not feel afraid when alone.
He leads my trucker safely down the highways.
He holds us in the palm of His mighty hand.
He keeps us close, though the distance divides;
He ignites our love and strengthens our marriage for His name's sake.
Yea, though I pass through many a lonely night
I will not be depressed or in doubt for you are the Alpha and Omega, the Bridegroom, your banner over us is love, you sustain us.
Your Holy Spirit comforts and encourages us.
You organize his loads so we can be together in good time.
Your mercies are new every morning.
Surely your presence binds us together in spirit
And we will enthrone you in our home forever. Amen.

Is this a good reason to Scrapbook?
Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. 2Peter 1:15

100 day celebration

Yeah! Tomorrow is the 100th day of school so we are celebrating! For homework my 5 yr. old is to bring 100 things to school. He chose his dad's hats. So this evening we climbed up into the attic and found 100 hats and counting! I do not have a list of 100 things like one of my friends but this was fun! We are also celebrating daddy coming home late tonight, early morning after a 2 1/2 week trip. YEAH!

Well I did something wrong! That was to be a little discreet picture of me! One where you had to strain your eyes to make out the features! Well I'll try another time! Anyway you know what my life revolves around anyway!

How many steps did you walk today?

this morning when I put on my pedometer I wondered how hard it would be to get the 10,000 steps in. when i took it off before I went to Bible Study I had logged in over 15,000! I felt great! all day I have been mulling over another thought that came to me this a.m. how many steps will I put on for the Lord today?
What kind of steps would those be?
1. Spend time with God through prayer and reading His Word.
2. A kind word to someone, especially my children
3. Not to get angry & yell at my kids. (they each broke a glass jar in their helpfulness to help mommy carry them upstairs)
4. to refrain from gossip
5.share God with someone, encouraging, praying for someone
6. to not get frustrated when the day is not going like I think it should be going
These are a few thoughts that came to my mind today.
They might be the seeds for a worship hour I need to lead on our ladies' scrapbooking weekend!
Do you think I could get an hour out of that? a good starting song might be Each Step I Take. give me some feed back.
Put some steps on for the Lord!
